Galaxy Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2 Reportedly Getting Price Hikes Right Alongside Samsung’s Foldables
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch lineup isn’t escaping the price increases already expected for the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
A new report from German outlet WinFuture claims the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will cost more than their predecessors, with hikes ranging between €30 and €50 depending on the specific model.
How Much More You’d Reportedly Pay
According to the leaked European pricing, the Galaxy Watch 9 in its 40mm Bluetooth configuration would rise to €409, a €40 jump over the Galaxy Watch 8.
The 40mm LTE version climbs further to €459, a €50 increase, while both 44mm variants, Bluetooth and LTE, are expected to add €30 each, landing at €439 and €489 respectively.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 carries the steepest jump of the group, reportedly rising a full €50 to €749 for its LTE-only configuration.
None of the pricing has been confirmed by Samsung Electronics, and US pricing hasn’t been detailed, though Droid Life estimates American buyers could see increases in the neighborhood of $50 once the conversion settles.
Foldables Are Feeling It Too
The watch increases are arriving in the same reporting cycle as the leaked Galaxy Z Fold 8 pricing.
These leaks point to the renamed “Ultra” foldable holding steady at €2199, a €100 increase over the outgoing Z Fold 7 Ultra, despite what leaks suggest are largely incremental changes rather than a dramatic redesign.
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to stay flat at €1999.
This broader cost pressure is the result of the ongoing memory chip shortage, driven in part by AI companies buying up manufacturing capacity, a supply squeeze that’s been pushing prices higher across both traditional and foldable smartphones.
What This Means Before Unpacked
Samsung hasn’t confirmed a date for its next Unpacked event, though July 22 in London remains the widely expected window for unveiling the highly anticipated Z Fold 8 alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 series and Watch Ultra 2.Â
Whether Samsung can justify the added cost will likely come down to what hardware or software improvements actually show up at launch, something leaks so far haven’t detailed with much specificity.
