One UI 9 Beta 4 Rolls Out for the Galaxy S26 Series With July Security Patches
Samsung has released the fourth One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series, moving quickly through its testing cycle just over a month before the software’s expected stable rollout.
The 1,250MB update carries firmware ending in ZZG4 and bundles in the July 5, 2026 security patch, arriving roughly a month after Beta 3 landed in mid-June.
What’s Actually Fixed in This Build
Android Authority, which received the update directly on a Galaxy S26 Ultra in the UK, reports the changelog skips new features entirely in favor of cleanup work.
- Abnormal clock size: Addressed an abnormal clock size that appeared when rotating the lock screen.
- Privacy Display routine: Fixed a bug where the Privacy Display routine wouldn’t toggle properly through Quick Panel or Settings.
- Vanishing navigation bar: Fixed a navigation bar that vanished under certain conditions during gaming.
- Quick Panel performance: Smooths out UI performance when opening and closing the Quick Panel.
- Live notifications: Fixes cut-off timer notification numbers in Live notifications.
- Routines app action: Repairs a Routines app action controlling Bluetooth audio media volume that wasn’t triggering correctly when connecting to a vehicle.
Where the Rollout Stands Right Now
The beta is currently live in Germany, India, Poland, the UK, and South Korea, according to Android Authority, with the US notably absent from that initial wave.
SamMobile confirms the same firmware, listed there as S948BXXU4ZZG4, is already reaching Indian testers and expects South Korea to follow shortly.
Discussion on Samsung’s US community forum shows American beta participants were watching for the update at launch, and both outlets expect the US rollout within days, consistent with Samsung’s staggered One UI 9 beta releases earlier this cycle.
How to Check for the Update
Anyone enrolled in the One UI 9 Beta Program on a Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, or S26 Ultra can check availability by going to Settings, then Software update, and tapping Check for updates.
Once downloaded, tapping Install now begins the process, and the smartphone restarts automatically once installation completes.
SamMobile notes Samsung could still push out one or two additional betas before finalizing the stable version, with that final release expected to follow the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 launch at Unpacked on July 22.
For now, Beta 4 reads as a stability-focused stopgap rather than a preview of anything dramatically new.
