• 14-bit RAW photo support: Pixel cameras can now capture significantly more detail for editing in professional photography workflows.
• Customizable photo picker grid: Android Apps can now display your gallery in a 9:16 portrait ratio instead of the old square format.
• Separate Assistant volume slider: Adjust Google Assistant volume independently from your media volume.
• VPN split-tunneling: Select specific apps to bypass your VPN tunnel directly from a system-managed settings screen.

Stable Android 17 is expected in June 2026, and given that the Android 16 Beta followed a similar timeline, that date is looking very realistic right now.
