Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra Leaks Reveal Privacy Display for All Models and a Long-Overdue Selfie Camera Upgrade
Following the recent display leaks, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 lineup is generating fresh leaks on two fronts at once.
South Korean outlet The Elec report says Samsung may bring Privacy Display technology to all four upcoming models, while a separate report citing GalaxyClub points to a 16MP front camera finally replacing the aging 12MP sensor on the Pro and Ultra variants.
Attention is already turning to how these upgrades will reshape privacy and photography when the devices debut next year.
Privacy Display Could Reach the Entire Lineup
According to The Elec’s report, Samsung is considering equipping the entire Galaxy S27 family, the standard S27, S27 Plus, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra, with Flex Magic Pixel privacy screen technology.
That feature debuted exclusively on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, narrowing viewing angles so nearby onlookers can’t see your screen content.
Extending it lineup-wide would mark a notable shift in how Samsung differentiates its base and premium models, since Privacy Display has so far stayed an Ultra-only perk.
Research firm SigmaIntell projects privacy-screen phone shipments rising from about 1 million units in 2025 to 21 million in 2026, potentially prompting Samsung to position the feature as a mainstream selling point instead of a flagship exclusive.
A 16MP Selfie Camera Ends a Four-Year Streak
Separately, GalaxyClub’s report, relayed by Android Authority, claims the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will finally move past the 12MP front-facing sensor Samsung has used since the Galaxy S23 Ultra launched in 2023.
The new 16MP sensor may adopt a square shape, a design choice that would let the camera crop clean portrait or landscape selfies without needing to physically rotate the phone, similar to functionality Apple has used on recent iPhone models.
It’s still unclear whether the standard Galaxy S27 and S27 Plus will receive the same front camera treatment, or whether Samsung will reserve it for the two higher-tier models only.
What This Means Heading Into 2027
Both leaks point toward a Galaxy S27 series, expected to launch around February 2027, that pushes further into differentiating its four-phone lineup.
Samsung already faces rumors of a redesigned rear camera array on the Ultra, including the possible removal of its long-standing 3x telephoto lens.
Paired with a smarter front camera to enhance the capture quality and wider Privacy Display availability, it suggests next year’s launch is more than an incremental refresh.
As always with leaks this far ahead of an official Unpacked event, these details remain unconfirmed by Samsung, and specifics could still shift before the phones are formally announced.
