Xfinity is shaking things up by ditching legacy tiers for a bold, value-first approach. Their new Mobile Plus and Mobile Select plans finally kill off the “hidden fees” we all hate.

While other carriers keep hiking prices, Xfinity is bundling hardware protection and annual upgrades directly into the package.

This overhaul introduces a “kill switch” for the anxiety of cracked screens and outdated hardware, ensuring you only need to bother with backing up your data while Xfinity handles the rest

According to the official Xfinity Mobile Care website, the flagship Mobile Plus plan ($45/line) is the first premium tier to bake “Lifetime Device Protection” directly into the monthly cost. 

Unlike the standard carrier model, where insurance is a $15–$20 monthly add-on, this coverage is now a native feature. It covers your Android devices against accidental damage, liquid spills, and even loss or theft, effectively lowering the total cost of ownership over the life of your phone.

As reported by Android Authority, the most disruptive element of this launch is the “Device Upgrades Anytime” benefit. 

Xfinity is ditching those rigid 24- or 36-month contracts, so eligible customers can upgrade to the latest flagship whenever they choose, even if their current phone is damaged or not fully paid off.

New customers switching from the “Big Three” carriers can even try a Mobile Select line free for a year, a pretty clear sign Xfinity is going all-in on winning over new users in early 2026.
