Samsung Galaxy S25 Just Got Two More Galaxy AI Features and Here’s What’s New
Samsung is closing the Galaxy AI gap between its 2025 and 2026 flagships. A new One UI 8.5 June 2026 update is rolling out to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra in South Korea today.
Unlike a typical monthly security patch, the unusually large update brings three Galaxy AI features that debuted as Galaxy S26 exclusives to last year’s flagship trio.
As tipster Tarun Vats confirms, the update carries build version S938NKSUACZF1 and includes the June 2026 security patch. The features were notably absent when One UI 8.5 first reached the Galaxy S25 series weeks ago.
Two Features That Were Missing, Until Now
According to Android Authority, citing Tarun, the June update delivers Notification Highlights and File Summaries to Galaxy S25 owners; both of which debuted on the Galaxy S26.
Here is what each feature actually does:
Notification Highlights (Prioritize & Summarize)
Your notification stack is no longer a flat reverse-chronological pile. Galaxy AI ranks and surfaces the most important alerts to the top automatically, reducing the need to scroll through a wall of text to find what matters.
Concurrently, long notification threads from messaging apps, email clients, or group chats get condensed into a clean, readable single-line summary so you see one sentence that captures the entire thread.
File Summaries
Open a PDF or TXT file on your Galaxy S25 and Galaxy AI generates a short, on-device summary of its contents so you can assess whether it is worth reading in full before committing time to it. The processing happens entirely on-device, not in the cloud.
The rollout has begun in South Korea, with a broader international expansion covering North America, Europe, and India expected in the coming week.
Galaxy S25 owners outside South Korea can manually check at Settings > Software update > Download and install to see if the update has arrived in their region.
Why This Update Took Longer Than Expected
Samsung’s decision to stagger these features across the S26 launch window and subsequent S25 updates was intentional. Galaxy AI exclusivity has been part of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series value proposition since Samsung Unpacked in March.
The second update that rolled out to S26 owners in April was the first signal that Samsung was preparing to expand Galaxy AI availability more broadly. This June update makes clear that the exclusivity window is formally over for these two features.
With One UI 9 Beta already live on Galaxy S26 and building toward a July 22 stable launch at Unpacked in London, Samsung is now managing two separate software tracks simultaneously: pushing new AI features forward on One UI 9 while completing the One UI 8.5 feature-parity rollout for S25.
