Samsung Inadvertently Exposes Galaxy A27 Specifications Online With Clear Hardware Downgrades
An unexpected publication error on Samsung’s official Czech Republic product portal has prematurely revealed the upcoming mid-range Galaxy A27 smartphone, echoing a recent mistake by Google leaking the COSMO app.
While the leak confirms a noticeable redesign and new layout, it also highlights a series of internal hardware compromises.
The disclosure leaves little to the imagination, showing that despite an upgraded exterior, Samsung appears to be making clear component downgrades underneath.
Modernized Infinity-O Chassis Design
According to technical product sheets briefly made public and highlighted by SamMobile, the Galaxy A27 completely ditches the old teardrop-shaped display notch of its direct predecessor.
The new mid-ranger embraces a highly modernized Infinity-O hole-punch cutout centered at the top of its spacious 6.7-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display, offering an ultra-smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Powering the system is Qualcomm’s mid-tier Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 octa-core processor, transitioning away from the older proprietary Exynos chipsets used previously.
Just like most current Android smartphones, the device keeps an enduring 5,000mAh battery capacity paired with standard 25W fast wired charging speeds, ensuring decent longevity across regular daily routines.
Compromised Camera Sensors And Ingress Protection Ratings
As detailed by PhoneArena, a deeper dive into the leaked technical specifications exposes a significant catch for budget buyers.Â
Samsung has unexpectedly downgraded the secondary ultrawide lens to a lower-resolution 5-megapixel sensor, dropping from the previous generation’s superior 8-megapixel module.
Additionally, the front-facing selfie snapper has been bumped down from a 13-megapixel shooter to a 12-megapixel unit.
However, heavy media consumption on these screens can easily draw extensive power over time and may prompt users to monitor battery life during daily usage.
Shockingly, the structural ingress protection rating has also plummeted from robust IP67 water immersion resistance down to a weaker IP64 splash-proof certification, meaning the phone may no longer withstand accidental submersions.
Extensive Software Commitments Versus Expanding Pricing Gaps
Despite these hardware regressions, the official product pages state that the smartphone will launch natively with Android 16-based One UI 8.5 software.Â
Samsung formally pledges an outstanding six years of major operating system upgrades alongside six years of regular security patches, offering longevity that stands competitive against standard mid-tier alternatives.
However, European retail pricing leaks indicate a stark premium, with the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration starting at approximately €349, while the upgraded 8GB RAM variant scales all the way up to €439, forcing consumers to think twice about value.
