One UI 8.5 Stable Is Finally Here: Galaxy S25, S25 FE, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 All Get the Update
Samsung has done something Galaxy S25 owners have been waiting months for: the stable One UI 8.5 update is officially rolling out.
And it brings several features that launched as Galaxy S26 exclusives directly to the S25, S25 FE, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7. After ten beta releases, the marathon is over.
One UI 8.5 Rollout and Galaxy S25 Integration
According to Android Authority, citing tipster Tarun Vats, stable One UI 8.5 is currently rolling out in South Korea as an incremental update to Galaxy S25 beta testers, arriving at 583MB and bundled with the April 2026 security patch.
While this final release marks the end of the road for S25 testing, it arrives just as the broader expansion continues, following the One UI 8.5 Beta 2 update that landed for the Galaxy S24 and S23 series just a few days back.
A global rollout, including the US, is expected to follow next week based on leaks.
New Galaxy AI Features and Design Enhancements
Samsung has brought the exclusive features of the flagship Galaxy S26 to the S25 series in this stable release, prioritizing advanced automation and creative control.
The full Galaxy AI additions arriving with One UI 8.5 include:
- Agentic AI: Executes multi-step tasks across various apps without requiring manual switching.
- Smarter Bixby & Call Screening: Features natural language processing and Bixby Text Call, which answers for you to verify the caller’s name and intent.
- Improved Audio Eraser & Creative Studio: Advanced sound editing paired with a dedicated Apps screen entry for generating custom wallpapers, stickers, and profile images.
- Continuous Image Generation: Photo Assist allows for ongoing AI-edited iterations with a full history review at the end of the session.
- Photo Assist Text Prompts: Applies specific image changes based on plain language descriptions.
- Now Brief on Lock Screen: Displays personalized, contextual suggestions without needing to unlock the device.
- Auto Language Detection: The interpreter now automatically identifies speaker languages during live conversations.
The One UI 8.5 design layer also arrives, bringing transparent blur effects, floating UI elements that react to workflow, and a refined visual system integrating immersive visuals with meaningful personalization.
S25 FE, Z Fold 7, and Z Flip 7 Join the Rollout Simultaneously
Android Authority also confirmed that stable One UI 8.5 is rolling out simultaneously to the Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7, beginning with beta testers in South Korea.
The S25 FE and foldable changelogs are still incoming. Samsung typically publishes full notes when the broader stable release hits non-beta users.
What is confirmed across all four devices is the core Galaxy AI enhancements: continuous image generation through Photo Assist, natural language processing for Bixby, and Now Nudge contextual alerts.
As these devices stabilize on version 8.5, early One UI 9 leaks are already surfacing, pointing toward a significant shift toward hardware-level security upgrades in the next generation.
