Google Is Building a “Your Day” Feed Inside Gemini And It Looks Like Google Now Is Back
Google is quietly working on something many Android users gave up hoping for.
Hidden inside the latest beta of the Google app is a feature called “Your Day,” a proactive, AI-powered daily feed built directly into Gemini that surfaces the most relevant information from across your Google apps before you even think to ask for it.
If it sounds familiar, that is because it is. Google Now did exactly this. And now, more than a decade later, Gemini is being built to revive it.
What Is the Gemini “Your Day” Feature?
Discovered in Google app beta version 17.14, Your Day is described as a feature that lets you “receive a proactive feed from Gemini to stay ahead of your day.”
It is a living, scrollable feed of contextually relevant cards that Gemini assembles for you automatically, pulling from your connected Google apps to surface what matters most right now.
Key Features of Gemini’s Your Day
Here is what key features has been found in the early build so far:
- Accessible from the Gemini navigation drawer: A dedicated entry point in the sidebar, not buried in settings
- “Top of mind” header: Cards are grouped under this label, showing the things Gemini thinks you should know or act on today
- Gmail integration: e-mails relevant to upcoming events or open tasks surface as cards
- Past Gemini conversations: Previous chats that are still relevant to the current context appear as reference points
- Goals view: A separate section that appears to generate personal goals based on your Google Search history
- “View” button on each card: Tap it to pull up the full source content Gemini is referencing
- Link icon: Shows a quick summary of exactly where that information originated
How Gemini Personal Intelligence Powers “Your Day”
Your Day will live inside Personal Intelligence settings; the same hub where Memory, Connected Apps, and Instructions for Gemini already live.
According to Android Central, Personal Intelligence is Google’s beta feature that connects Gemini to your Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube history, and other Google apps to deliver personalized answers and proactive assistance built specifically around your life.
Why This Is a Bigger Deal Than It Sounds
Google Now launched in 2012 and became the gold standard for proactive mobile intelligence, surfacing your commute, flights, sports, and calendar at the right time without being asked.
Google shut it down in 2016 and spent years trying to recreate that experience through Assistant, Snapshot, and other attempts, but none fully succeeded.
Your Day, powered by Gemini’s ability to reason across multiple data sources, is the closest attempt yet to bring that vision back.
The combination of Gmail context, Search history, past Gemini conversations, and a daily goals view gives Your Day a much wider context window than anything Google has built before.
If your calendar shows a flight tomorrow, Gemini could surface your booking details, destination weather, and relevant reminders in one place without a prompt. For users who rely on AI apps to stay organized, Your Day could become the central morning hub that replaces multiple apps.
When Is Your Day Coming?
There is no confirmed release date yet. The feature was found through an APK teardown and manually enabled; it has not rolled out to users. Google has not made an official announcement.
However, with Google I/O 2026 just weeks away in May, Your Day is exactly the kind of headline Gemini feature Google would save for a big reveal. If it does not arrive before then, I/O is the most likely stage.
Worth noting: this is still in development code, and as with any beta discovery, there is no guarantee it ships in its current form. Behavior and design may change before public release, similar to what we often see across ongoing Android OS updates.
